
Elected as the Lafayette Parish Assessor on October 21, 1999, his four-year term began on January 1, 2001. He is currently serving another four-year term which began January 1, 2005.

Advanced technology is a top priority for Conrad ComeauxMr. Comeaux is committed to bringing the most up to date technological advances to the Assessor's office. Digital mapping and advanced computer assisted mass appraisal systems are his top priorities and he has made some major advances in reaching these goals. Technology will allow the Assessor's office to determine the most accurate and fair property assessments.
Mr. Comeaux, a native of Scott, Louisiana, graduated from the University of Southwestern Louisiana in Lafayette, LA with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Chemistry. He later earned his Master of Business Administration from the University of Southwestern Louisiana and a Master of Health Administration from Tulane University in New Orleans, LA.
Mr. Comeaux's diverse work experience includes hospital administration, insurance sales, and owning an oilfield rental tool company.
He is not new to government. Prior to being elected to the Assessor's office, Mr. Comeaux served from 1984 - 1996 as a member of the Lafayette Parish Council.
As well as being an elected official, Mr. Comeaux has been very involved in community and business organizations. Currently, he is a member of the LA Assessor's Association, the International Association of Assessor's Offices, the Urban and Regional Information Systems Association, and the Performing Arts Society of Acadiana.
He is a past member of the Health Sub-Committee of the National Association of Counties, past board member of Goodwill of Acadiana and the Lafayette Chapter of the American Red Cross, past president of Lafayette Junior Achievement, and past board member of the Scott Jaycees.
Mr. Comeaux is married to Jackie Lyle and they have three children - Crawford, Caroline and Candace.
