Notice is hereby given that the assessment listings for the year 2009 have been completed and values have been established on all taxable property in the Parish of Lafayette.  The values thus fixed will be open for inspection at the Assessor’s Office Monday through Friday from 8:00 A.M. – 4:30 P.M. on August 31, 2009 through September 15, 2009. The office will be closed on Monday, September 7 in observance of Labor Day. Any taxpayer desiring to examine his/her assessment is requested to come to the Assessor’s Office during this period.

After reviewing the assessment with a staff member in the Assessor’s Appraisal Department, any taxpayer may protest the value fixed by the Assessor to the Lafayette City-Parish Council.  Appeal forms, obtained from the Assessor’s office, must be received by the Council office either in person at 705 West University Avenue, Lafayette, LA or by certified mail addressed to the Lafayette City-Parish Council, P.O. Box 4017-C, Lafayette, LA 70502.  Forms are to be submitted NO LATER THAN 12:00 P.M. ON SEPTEMBER 29, 2009 for the October 6th Council Meeting.
